About Brazen Barbie.

Kenyan-Australian, Perth-via-Melbourne artist Brazen Barbie is a musician whose talent and drive can’t be messed with. Her compelling, dominating voice and iced out, bold lyricism has found its place among a growing scene of emergingAustralian R&B and hip-hop talent. From thoughts to pen, Brazen Barbie has delivered hit after hit over the course of her career, exhibiting rawness straight from the heart and mind of someone who is destined to make it worldwide. Brazen’s music journey started in primary school, where her early interests in cello and singing sparked the artistic flame she would soon explore in her teens. Soon, her journey manifested into following the steps of luminaries like rapper Gangsta Boo and crunk pioneer Duke Deuce, but with an incomparable authenticity that makes her stand out from her peers. Riddled within hits like CHECK and DON’T TALK are rightfully braggadocious bars that act as declarations of confidence, independence and divine femininity. Her playful punchlines soften the blow of her rough and tough lyricism, showing the layers and depth of her pen wholeheartedly. Uncompromising in the slightest, Brazen Barbie’s one-of-one attitude, undying drive and larger than life approach to the artform she loves makes her an undeniable force to be reckoned with. Having played Sydney Fringe Festival, BIG SOUND, SXSW, Promiseland and been inducted into the Acclaim Magazine All Stars Class of 2024, we are only scratching the surface of what’s to come for Brazen Barbie. Her appearances on prominent streaming platforms editorial playlists like Spotify’s The Drip, The Flavour, Local Hype and A1, and notable features on VICE, Acclaim Magazine, Purple Sneakers and AU Dollars speaks volumes to the reach Brazen has. Coining herself as one of her main influences and inspirations during her interview on Sydney community radio station FBi Radio, it’s obvious that she is carving out her own path in the often oversaturated, male-dominated world of hip-hop, rap and R&B. She’s resilient, made of brass, without shame and undoubtedly brazen.
