Installing it, start to finish

Android asks a few questions before it will install an app from outside the Play Store. None of them mean anything is wrong — here's what you'll see.

    Download the APK

    Tap the button above. Your browser may warn that this file type can harm your device — that warning appears for every APK, including ones from the Play Store's own developers. Choose to keep it.

    Allow installs from your browser

    Open the downloaded file. Android will ask for permission to install apps from this source — it asks once, per app, and only for the browser you downloaded with. Turn it on and come back.

  3. 3

    Tap through Play Protect

    Because Wombie isn't on the Play Store yet, Play Protect will say the app is unrecognised. Choose "Install anyway". Then open Wombie and pick your city.

On an iPhone instead?
