The question was never whether there's an algorithm β it's what it optimizes for. Instagram optimizes for the next scroll. We optimize for the next time you're in a room with your friends. Attention vs. attendance: the rare algorithm whose success metric is you using the app less. And it's transparent β you can always see exactly why something is where it is.

The Problem
You're standing outside a venue, alone. You texted the group 10 minutes ago. One person said "leaving now." Another is "5 minutes away" β they haven't left yet. You don't know if anyone is actually coming. This is the default experience for every event.
You walk in alone. Scan the room. Don't see anyone you know. Stand awkwardly by the bar pretending to check your phone.
"5 minutes away" is the biggest lie in social coordination. They're still in the shower. You're already there.
"Where are you?" "I'm coming" "Which entrance?" "I can't see you" β 12 texts that could've been a glance at a map.
One friend never shows. Never texted. You find out the next day. "Oh sorry, something came up." You went alone for nothing.
What you get
We win when you put your phone down β not when you scroll. It's the only feed whose goal is you leaving the house.
You can always see exactly why something ranks where it does β the real signals behind it, in plain language. Nothing secret.
Don't like our default? Slide the lenses toward what makes a night worth leaving the house for.
